Vaxxinity is a clinical-stage immunotherapeutic company led by a female CEO, in an informal values-driven start-up culture. Vaxxinity is developing a portfolio of candidates targeting neurologic disorders, hypercholesterolemia, and COVID-19.

You will collaborate with a group of inspiring colleagues all over the globe who are working on disruptive projects, solving big problems, and having a huge impact on the world.  Vaxxinity is an international company, operating from day one across several countries and team members worldwideExpect to grow, expect to be challenged, and expect the unexpected as we embark on this journey of democratizing health for all the world’s citizens.

We are looking for a capable scientist to perform peptide synthesis (high-throughput small-scale preps as well as larger preps for uses such as animal studies), peptide purification, analytical method development and process development to support our drug discovery program and IND-enabling studies. Peptides are at the core of Vaxxinity’s technology, and this position will spearhead the development and initial production of novel vaccines and therapeutics. Housed within the Operations department, the Vaxxinity Process and Analytical Development (PAD) group fills the niche between R&D and GMP manufacturing. PAD receives promising vaccine candidates from R&D and performs the activities necessary to bring each candidate from research-grade lab processes to readiness for clinical trial manufacturing. The PAD Laboratory is responsible for developing synthesis, formulation, and analytical methods needed to enable testing of novel vaccines and analysis of immune responses from study animals and clinical trial volunteers. As a key member of this team, the Scientist, Peptide Synthesis will build the operations and processes needed to deliver the high-quality reagents and data that form the foundation of future innovative vaccines. Activities include but are not limited to peptide synthesis, purification, optimization of analytical methods, peptide synthesis process development, specification development, and transfer of processes and methods to GMP laboratories. The role involves close interaction with colleagues in the Process and Analytical Development group including specialists in formulation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of accomplishments in laboratory research, excellent communication and time management skills, and the ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
